4 Signs That It Might Be Time to Break-Up

Breaking up is never easy. When two people share months, years, even decades together, learning how to live independently seems like a daunting task. There are usually signs when a relationship is on its last legs, but love is blind.

Here are signs that something may be wrong with your own relationship.

You don't argue any more

1. You don't argue enough -- or at all

When people are in a relationship, they argue. Too much arguing is bad, but arguing occasionally is normal. It shows that you are willing to talk to each other and want the relationship to continue.

However, you should be concerned if there is absolutely no fighting at all. If your significant other just stops arguing with you entirely, they may have stopped caring about the relationship. It's important to understand the difference between a lack of arguing and things going smoothly.

You don't communicate

2. There is a lack of communication

Communication is vital to a relationship. Having an open dialogue is what helps relationships thrive. Simple forms of communicating, like telling each other where you are going, indicate to your partner that you care.

Once your partner stops asking you where you're going or who you're with, it's a clear sign they no longer care about even the relationship.

They get scared when you take their phone

3. They get scared when you're on their phone

Cell phones allow us to stay in constant communication with friends, family and our significant other. People tend to put a passcode on their phones to restrict access to its contents, so that no one else will see.

But if you are in a trusting relationship with your partner, they shouldn't have any issue with you going through their phone. A partner that demands their phone back is probably hiding something. Depending on how old the relationship is, you may not yet feel comfortable allowing them with your phone. This usually changes after a healthy amount of time.

One partner is controlling

4. One partner is emotional abusive

Your partner should be someone that helps you grow -- someone who challenges you to break your limits in all avenues of your life. When you have a partner that tries to control you and gets jealous too easily, it strains the relationship.

End it immediately.

Partners that try to control you will only get worse over time. They will make you believe that what they decide for you is best, and you will start to believe them. Don't fall into the idea that everything they say is the right away. You will begin to think its normal and will find it more and more difficult to end things.
