Users Share Funny Stories of Why They Ghosted Someone

Ghosting is the practice of cutting off all ties with someone, usually a romantic partner, without giving any proper explanation. Although it's not an act of maturity to vanish from someone's life without proper reasoning, people think it's okay to ghost someone in certain situations. (Then you don't have to confront the other person or go through a fruitless discussion. Just block the person and stop all mediums of communication at once.)

When it comes to ghosting incidents, reading about real life stories are all the more entertaining. Compiled here are some funny ghosting stories shared by our users who ghosted people from their lives for awkward and hilarious reasons.

Funny Ghosting Stories

It was my first date with this guy whom I didn't know very well. Since we were meeting for the very first time, I chose a restaurant that served pure vegetarian food. I sensed that he wasn't very well-versed with the dining etiquette, so I tried to help him nicely. He took it as an insult and said, "You don't have to teach me!" I was annoyed, because I was genuinely trying to help.

After dinner, when the finger bowls arrived, he did what I feared he would. He squeezed the lemons in the bowl and gulped it down. And then he said, "See, I know everything!" That was the last time I saw him. I didn't know how to tell him the truth without making it look like an insult. Till this day, when I see a finger bowl, I laugh.

I had a huge crush on my trainer at work. However, when I joined the office, he was already on his notice. During that one month, we talked a lot, and I developed feelings for him. I decided not to act on them. The day he was about to leave, I wrote a poem for him and read it out aloud. People started teasing me, and I blushed a little, sensing that he would also take a hint from the poem.

As he came near me, I opened my arms for a hug, but he gave me a high-five instead, saying, "Thanks Bro! It means a lot to me!" I was so embarrassed and disappointed that I disappeared completely from his life. After that, he did try to reach out, but I never responded. I wanted to be his BAE not his BRO!

I once dated a girl who was very talkative. I thought I could bear it until we went to the theatre together. We were watching a movie, and I was fully engrossed in the story. While everyone was completely silent, she started talking! I tried to shush her, but she kept asking me questions by nudging me with her elbow. Even the people sitting around us were asking her to keep quiet, but she didn't care. Clearly, she had no interest in the movie.

She asked me, "When can we leave?" I responded that I couldn't leave without knowing the ending. She actually took out her phone to Google it and told me how it ended. I was so infuriated that I walked out the theatre and never spoke to her again.

I was on Pyar.com and found two dating profiles that looked equally impressive. I couldn't decide whom to choose, so I started seeing both of them. I felt guilty but thought it was harmless. I just need some time to make my decision. Since they didn't know about each other, I had to be very sneaky on dates. One day, I met one of the guys at the coffee shop, and the other one coincidentally entered and caught us holding hands.

Before I could explain the situation, they looked at each other and laughed. They were friends! We all looked at each other realizing what happened. I stood up, took my purse and slid out like a ninja hoping they don't come after me. I had no choice but to ghost both of them. I hope they know that I didn't intend to hurt them.
