World-famous Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer/actor Nick Jonas shocked the presses with the announcement of the date and location of their wedding. The mega wedding is scheduled to take place this weekend in Jodhpur.
Chopra and Jonas have become the most talked-about couple globally. After their first appearance together at the Met Gala of 2017, the two claimed that they were just friends. However, despite the chemistry, they did not make a public appearance for almost a year.
Starting this May, the two were spotted attending multiple events together. From there, they were often seen holding hands. To everyone's surprise, Priyanka addressed the media about her relationship with Jonas in July. The couple was later engaged on Chopra's birthday.
Later in August, the couple was officially engaged in a traditional "roka" ceremony with family members and close friends. An engagement party was also held for friends and family. Bollywood celebrities such as Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra and Arpita Khan were in attendance.
Some fans have been critical of the relationship as a result of their 11-year age difference. However, that has never affected them. The two have never shied away from flaunting their love for each other in public and have been quoted saying that the age difference is not a big deal.
The power couple is all set to tie the knot at the Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel on December 2. Speculations claim that the couple will tie the knot according to traditional Hindu ceremony. However, it is rumored that they may also hold a Christian wedding ceremony as well.
The couple arrived in India early this week to kick off pre-wedding ceremonies including a puja, before the wedding takes place this weekend. Soon after his arrival in India, Nick was welcomed to a family dinner. The two later posed outside Priyanka's home and then the Jodhpur airport.
The entire Jonas family is in India preparing for the wedding. Confirmed guests also include Sophie Turner, Mimi Cuttrell, Parineeti Chopra, Anjula Acharia, Chanchal Dsouza among other celebrity friends.
The wedding has garnered an abundance of social media buzz from international friends and fans. Earlier today, director Shonali Bose wrote on Twitter:
"You were courageous enough to shoot such wrenching things with me mere days before one of the happiest days of your life. I will be ever grateful for that. Happy happy happy wedding day sweetheart. And all the verrrrrrry best for this new leg of life. See you very soon back on set as Ms. PCJ. Chummas."
Bose is the director of "The Sky is Pink" which is an upcoming movie starring Priyanka Chopra.
The wedding ceremony, which is set to begin tomorrow, will be a three-day event. Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra has recently joined the actress in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to take over the wedding responsibilities of her daughter.
According to reports, the celebration has been planned to start the first day of festivities with a Sangeet and Mehendi ceremony. As the celebration approaches, fans eagerly wait to see what the highly-fashionable couple will wear on their big day.
